Jorge, who was the first actor cast for the show, will play the “hippy geek” Dr. Diego Soto, a world-class authority on Alcatraz. J.J. Abrams is co-executive producer. Filming will begin in January in San Francisco and Vancouver.

Here are a couple more recently-announced new projects, one involving a LOST actor, and the other LOST producers. (via sl-LOST)
Jeremy Davies (Daniel Faraday) will be joining the Season 2 cast of FX’s Justified, playing a recurring role as the Marshall’s nemesis. The new season starts in February, 2011. (via Hollywood Reporter)
I’ve never seen Justified, so I have no opinion on this. Has anyone seen it? Is it good?
LOST’s executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis have created a new show called Once Upon a Time that will be on ABC. The starting date has apparently not yet been announced.
According to Variety, it’s a modern take on fairy tales, a mix of science fiction, fantasy, and mystery, with a female protagonist from a “unique” background.
Despite the fairy tale premise, show will have a strong human emotional center. Similar to “Lost,” there will be a large ensemble.
Sounds intriguing.
Horowitz and Kitsis came up with the idea seven years ago, before getting involved in LOST, and then put it on the back burner until LOST was over.
Bringing even more LOST flavor to the project, Damon Lindelof will consult on the show! (I just hope he doesn’t write the ending.) (Sorry, I couldn’t resist. I’m actually excited about this one — it sounds like it could be a winner, especially if they can develop the ensemble concept even half as well as they did on LOST.)

Another video from the red (actually silver) carpet, featuring quick takes from Jorge Garcia, Darlton, Henry Ian Cusick, Malcolm David Kelley, and a cameo from rocker Marilyn Manson:
Tonight, you can watch a reunion of some of the old LOST gang, including the long-unseen Waaaaaaaaalt.
When: Tuesday, October 19, 2010, 9 PM (8 PM Central)
Where: Spike TV, during the Scream Awards
The show was taped on Saturday, and Spike TV released a clip of part of the LOST tribute. The cast and producers in attendance are, in order of appearance, Carlton Cuse, Jorge Garcia (who acts as the spokesperson for the group), Damon Lindelof, Francois Chau, Ian Somerhalder, Henry Ian Cusick, a very tall Malcolm David Kelley, Harold Perrineau, and a burning piece of Flight 815 wreckage.
Why no women? Hmmm.
I almost didn’t recognize Josh Holloway without his LOST beard in this picture from the set of his upcoming movie Mission: Impossible 4. (via sl-LOST, which has a half dozen more pictures of Josh on the set.)
I had taped the PBS/American Experience/Frontline show God in America and started watching it last night. I didn’t know much about it, just that it had sounded interesting and worth watching. I didn’t know who was in it.
A little while in, there was a segment on John Winthrop, the governor of the Puritan colony in Plymouth. The actor playing Winthrop was introduced in a quick shot, his face mostly obscured in shadows. The show then cut away from Winthrop for a few minutes, and when he returned to the screen, he was still wrapped in shadows. I noticed the acting — it stood out because the actor was giving a dramatic reading, and I noticed his eyes because they were slightly bugged out. But I didn’t put two and two together. A few more beats passed before it suddenly hit me: OMG that’s Michael Emerson!
Here’s a clip of his segment:
Watch the full episode. See more FRONTLINE.
If the clip doesn’t work, try the PBS website here: God in America. Michael Emerson’s segment is in Part One “A New Adam,” starting at 12:40, where you can hear his voice reciting the famous line about a city on the hill.
