LOST 10th Anniversay Reunion

lost cast
PaleyFest
in Los Angeles will be hosting a cast reunion for the 10th Anniversary of LOST on Sunday, March 16, 2014. (That’s the 10th anniversary from the year the show started — it hasn’t been that long since it finished — though it has been almost four years, which is hard to believe — time flies.)

Scheduled to appear: Josh Holloway (Sawyer), Daniel Dae Kim (Jin), Yunjin Kim (Sun), Jorge Garcia (Hurley), Emilie de Ravin (Claire), Ian Somerhalder (Boone), Nestor Carbonell (Alpert), Henry Ian Cusick (Desmond), Malcolm David Kelley (Waaaaaaaaaalt), executive producer Carlton Cuse, and more.

Carlton talked about the show in an interview posted yesterday on Vulture. He’s still defensive about fan criticism of the ending. “We did the version that we wanted to,” he said. “Damon and I still stand by it. There was no answering-a-million-questions version of the end that wouldn’t have been didactic and awful.”

Whatever your opinion of the ending, the reunion should be an exciting event. For those of us unable to make it to L.A., there were hopefully be video posted on YouTube after the event is over.

Reminder: LOST tribute on Spike TV Scream Awards tonight, Oct. 19, 2010

Tonight, you can watch a reunion of some of the old LOST gang, including the long-unseen Waaaaaaaaalt.

When: Tuesday, October 19, 2010, 9 PM (8 PM Central)
Where: Spike TV, during the Scream Awards

The show was taped on Saturday, and Spike TV released a clip of part of the LOST tribute. The cast and producers in attendance are, in order of appearance, Carlton Cuse, Jorge Garcia (who acts as the spokesperson for the group), Damon Lindelof, Francois Chau, Ian Somerhalder, Henry Ian Cusick, a very tall Malcolm David Kelley, Harold Perrineau, and a burning piece of Flight 815 wreckage.

Why no women? Hmmm.

LOST-related Events at San Diego Comic-Con 2010

Daniel Dae Kim will be starring in the reimagined version of Hawaii Five-0

Comic-Con 2010 is this week. While there won’t be the kind of LOST panel that we’ve seen in the past, there will be plenty of events featuring LOST actors, writers, and fans.

Here’s the schedule. Twitter will be a good bet for live coverage.

Thursday, July 22, 2010

4:30-5:30 LOST’s composing genius Michael Giacchino will be a member of the panel in Behind the Music with CW3PR: Composing for Sci-Fi, Horror, and Fantasy Film & TV.

Friday, July 23, 2010

10:15-11:15 Daniel Dae Kim (Jin) will be on the panel Aloha, Earth! discussing the remake of Hawaii Five-0. Kim was the first actor cast for the show (he will play Detective Chin Ho Kelly), which also stars Alex O’Loughlin (Moonlight), Grace Park (Battlestar Galactica), and Jean Smart (Martha Logan on 24). The show will start in the fall on CBS.

7:30-8:30 30 Days of Night: Dark Days This panel is for a movie based on a graphic novel, starring Kiele Sanchez, who played the ill-fated Nikki Fernandez (as in, Nikki and Paulo) in LOST’s most hated sub-plot. Wishing her better luck in her new role.

Saturday, July 24, 2010

1:00-2:00 The Write Stuff: Creating Genre Television. Among the 11 writers on the panel are two from LOST — Javier Grillo-Marxuach and Jesse Alexander. This looks like a very interesting event. As does the next one:

1:00-2:00 The Lost Podcast with Jay and Jack. Here’s the official description: “Father and son team Jay and Jack Glatfelter have one of the oldest and biggest podcasts dedicated to ABC’S Lost. Discuss the stirring series finale, and learn about the huge dedicated online community for TV’s most mind-twisting drama. Join Jay and Jack for this special interview and Q&A session!”

2:30-3:15 V Screening and Q&A with, of course, Elizabeth Mitchell (Juliet). V will be coming back in the middle of the fall season.

4:15-5:00 The Vampire Diaries Screening and Q&A with Ian Somerhalder (Boone). Vampire Diaries will be back in the fall.

This one may be the most LOST-centric event of all:

6:00-7:00 Lost But Not Forgotten Official description: “Lost Encyclopedia authors Tara Bennett and Paul Terry, along with other special Lost guests, discuss this seminal show’s legacy, their thoughts on the finale, and the creation of the forthcoming Lost Encyclopedia.”

Sunday, July 25, 2010

11:15-12:15 Cartoon Network: Tower Prep with Firebreather Sneak Paul Dini, the creator of this new live-action mystery show, was a writer and story editor on LOST.

Editing to add: I just noticed that JOpinionated has a list that includes these events I missed: Sterling Beaumon (Young Ben) and Andrea Gabriel (Nadia) signing autographs; a Friday night casual get-together with Jay & Jack; executive producers/writers Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis on a panel on Thursday 11:15 to 12:45; Michelle Rodriguez (Ana Lucia) on a panel Thursday 1 to 2; J.J. Abrams on a panel Thursday 3:30 to 4:30; Elizabeth Mitchell on two more panels in addition to the V panel listed above (Friday 4-5 and 6:30-7:30); and Lance Reddick, who played my favorite non-starring character (Matthew Abaddon), in a Fringe panel on Saturday 3:15 to 4:15 .

Boone actor says he is coming back to LOST!

Good news for Boone fans:

Last week, during an interview with Access Hollywood at Comic-Con, Ian Somerhalder said he was coming back.

AH: Fans of LOST obviously are wondering, because they were saying a lot of the people are going to be brought back for the final season, are you one of them?

IS: I literally two minutes ago walked out of a Green Room with Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof —

AH: Oh you did?

IS: — and, yes.

AH: So that means you will be back in some capacity?

IS: We are gonna work it out.

AH: Nice!

IS: Yes.

AH: Okay, that’s fantastic… When will you actually have time to film something like that? [Ian will be starring in the new show Vampire Diaries starting this fall.]

IS: That we don’t know. That’s what they were just talking about, literally… It’s going to be red-eye from Atlanta, go to set, work.

So there you have it. Boone is coming back — or at least the actor who plays him thinks that he is.

And what about Shannon? No word yet, except that Maggie Grace said she was going to Hawaii for a vacation. Hmmm.
