The Mystery of the 3.2 Million Dollars is Solved!

case-closed

Darlton confirm on the April 23, 2009 official audio podcast that the reason Miles demanded that Ben pay him $3.2 million last season was because it was double Widmore’s $1.6 million fee.

Mystery solved.

(And I was so sure there was more to it!)

Evangeline Lilly talks about her character, Kate

Lilly talks about Kate’s giving up Aaron, and about the love quadrangle, in these two official video podcasts.

In the first podcast, Evangeline talks about how Kate finally came to accept that keeping Aaron would be morally wrong. The podcast includes short clips of Kate’s scenes with Cassidy and with Carole Littleton (Claire’s mother) from 5×11 Whatever Happened, Happened.

The second podcast is about Jack versus Sawyer. Evangeline has a great line: “I feel that any audience member who is what they call a Jate-er, a Jack and Kate fan, has got to be living a life of perpetual frustration.”

Not only is the bit about “perpetual frustration” funny in itself, but I love that Evangeline uses the term “Jate-er,” which is a fan term. There is a something very nice about the interaction between the show and the fans, which couldn’t have happened, at least not to the same degree, in the days before the internet.

(The first podcast was released April 9, 2009, and the second April 23, 2009. There was no podcast during the week of the clip/recap show.)

Henry Ian Cusick (who plays Desmond) sued for sexual harassment

A member of the LOST production crew filed a lawsuit yesterday in Los Angeles Superior Court, suing Henry Ian Cusick, ABC, and Grass Skirts Productions for sexual battery, hostile work environment, and wrongful termination. She alleged that in October, 2007, Cusick, among other things, “placed his hand on Plaintiff’s buttocks … then began to caress the back of Plaintiff’s body while making moaning sounds,” and that he put his face on and squeezed her breasts. She complained to her supervisor, and a week and a half later, she was fired.

Ask Lost: Daniel Dae Kim (Jin)

Daniel Dae Kim gets his turn to answer viewer questions in this third installment of “Ask Lost.” He talks about how far Jin has come as a character, which other characters he would like to play, and why he loves living in Hawaii.

Ask Lost — Jorge Garcia (Hurley)

Jorge Garcia talks about what he’d like Hurley to do that he hasn’t done before, what his favorite lottery number is, and why he’d like to see the show move to Egypt.

Ask Lost — Michael Emerson (Ben) answers viewer questions

ABC started a new feature a few weeks ago, “Ask LOST,” where the actors answer viewer questions.

Michael Emerson was the first one up. He comes across here as articulate, smart, very nice — and not at all scary. I like the sound of his voice here; he has the diction of a stage actor, which of course is what he was for many years.

Jorge Garcia (Hurley) sings even more!

I love these “actors singing” videos.

Here, Jorge sings the bluesy “Mustang Sally” with a group comprised entirely of actors from various TV shows at the Netflix Live concert in August, 2008.

Jorge isn’t listed in the promo material, so maybe he was a surprise guest.

And here’s a clip where Jorge is singing “I Feel Good” in character, as Hurley. Notice how a wave from the ocean provides a final beat! I love Hurley’s last line too. It’s from Episode 1×21, The Greater Good.
